More than 50 years of design and engineering has gone into producing the UK’s most select range of lecture theatre seating systems. Our top of the range Type chair is traditionally upholstered and can be found in prestigious applications in either a lecture theatre or auditorium style application.
The chair has many features allowing it to sustain the daily rigours of a lecture theatre or auditorium and comes with an industry unique lifetime warranty. Here’s why we regard our Type chair the best in its class:
Plywood cores - the plywood cores have pre-finished, pencil rounded corners to prevent the timber cutting through on stressed corners.
CMHR foam - the bulk of the Type chair is constructed from 90mm CMHR foam. This strong, hard-wearing foam provides greater support and helps the chair keep its shape.
Foam topper - we utilise a foam topper to achieve maximum comfort levels and a reduction in wear and tear to the user.
Seat backs - the seat back is of a similar construction to the seat base, incorporating pre-finished plywood cores, a layer of CMHR foam and a terylene inner lining.
Fabric - Type seating can be covered in any fabric and colour of your choice. We are always happy to give advice on the many fabric options that are available to you.
Base fabric - quality fabric is used to cover and protect the underside of the chair. Contrasting fabrics can be used to the top of the seat base to create a more prestigious and stylish appearance.
Chair frames - our frames can be adapted to suit any type of seating installation be it on a flat floor or tiered, concrete or timber surfaces. The frames also have a double nylon coat making them virtually impossible to scratch.
Auto tipping action - as well as a seat weight the self-tipping action is assisted with nylatron bushes inserted into the frame, ensuring a smooth silent operation in excess of 100,000 cycles.
